Three things that follow you across state lines
First, Sacred Heart's licensure disclosure table states, program by program, whether its FNP and PMHNP programs meet a given state's educational requirements. Second, the state where your clinical site sits decides which RN license you need to train there. Third, New York is its own case: no NP clinical hours may be done there, so New York residents train next door.

In which states does Sacred Heart's FNP not meet licensure requirements?
As of September 2026 the disclosures list the FNP and PMHNP programs as "No" for Arizona, California, Kansas, Louisiana and Oregon, along with DC and the territories; Washington is "No" for the PMHNP only. The disclosures guide has the full table.
Are NP clinical hours allowed in New York?
They are not. Sacred Heart's NP licensure programs cannot place clinical hours in New York, so New York residents complete them in a neighboring state using that state's RN license. See the New York guide.
Which RN license do I need for clinicals in another state?

Will I need to travel to Connecticut?
