Who we are

We are a placement desk for Sacred Heart University nursing students, specialized in one school's clinical process. Placement advisors on the desk find preceptors and sites, confirm them, prepare the details Sacred Heart reviews and stay with each student through the rotation. Each student works with one placement advisor who knows the course, the deadline and the site from the first message onward. The students we serve come from the online FNP and PMHNP tracks and certificates, the CNL, Nursing Education and NMEL tracks, both RN-BSN routes and the DNP programs.

We work for you, the student. Sacred Heart University runs its own approvals, contracts and clearances and decides every placement; what we prepare is everything that feeds into those decisions, ready early enough for your deadline.

Why one school, and why this one

Sacred Heart's clinical process has its own language and its own clock. A placement passes the academic advisor, the MSN Online NP Programs Clinical Coordinator, the Contract Request Form and an affiliation agreement before a "Cleared for Clinical" email lets a student start. Each online FNP placement has to be in by week 10 of the preceding course; a contract with a site new to Sacred Heart can run to nine months; NP hours cannot be completed in New York; and the College itself describes primary care openings in Connecticut as limited.

Confidentiality. What you share is used for one purpose: answering you and arranging your placement. When a practice considers taking you, it sees just the details relevant to that decision, and health records stay out of forms and chat until a particular placement calls for one. The privacy policy sets this out in full.

Sacred Heart Preceptor is an independent placement desk working for Sacred Heart students. The University's own staff, from your academic advisor to the Clinical Contract & Compliance Coordinator, make every approval and contract decision, and we prepare what reaches them so those reviews can move.

Who handles my placement day to day?

One placement advisor from the desk carries your placement from intake to your last clinical day: the search, the preceptor conversations, the approval details and the follow-up during the course. You always know whom to message when something changes, whether that is a new deadline or a preceptor's schedule.

Which states do you cover?

Every state Sacred Heart lists as meeting the educational requirements for your track, provided your RN license is active there. Online NP students complete no clinical hours in New York, so residents of that state train in a nearby one instead. The state licensure disclosures page lists each state's status.

How current is the information on this site?

Every page carries an updated date and a list of the Sacred Heart sources behind it, with the 2026-27 student guides and the 2026-2027 catalog as the main references. When Sacred Heart publishes new guides or changes a rule, the affected pages are revised to match.
