These terms apply when you use this site or ask Sacred Heart Preceptor to help with a clinical placement. By using the site or our service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside your Sacred Heart program's own requirements.

The service
Sacred Heart Preceptor is an independent placement service for Sacred Heart University nursing students. We search for preceptors and clinical sites that fit a student's Sacred Heart course, prepare preceptor and site information for the student's submission to Sacred Heart, and help find a replacement if a preceptor steps away.
Sacred Heart does not run this service, and the information on this site is not an official Sacred Heart statement. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Sacred Heart Preceptor, and "you" means the person using the site or the service.
Sacred Heart's role and final approval
Sacred Heart University reviews and approves every preceptor and clinical site its students use, and that approval is final in every case. Sacred Heart's catalog, program pages, student guides, course syllabi and faculty set the rules for your program.
Where anything on this site or in our communications differs from Sacred Heart's current requirements, Sacred Heart's requirements apply.
No promise of placement, approval or dates
We work hard to find a suitable preceptor and site for you. We do not promise that one will be found, that one will be found by a particular date, that Sacred Heart will approve a site or preceptor we identify, or that you will start or finish any course or program on a particular timetable.
Preceptors and sites make their own decisions and may change or withdraw their availability at any time, including after Sacred Heart's approval.
Your responsibilities
You remain responsible for meeting Sacred Heart's requirements and deadlines, whether or not we are helping you. In particular, you are responsible for:
- submitting the documentation Sacred Heart asks for, including anything Sacred Heart asks you to submit to your Health Account or E*Value, on time;
- holding an active, unencumbered RN license wherever a practicum site is located;
- completing background checks, drug screens, health clearance, immunizations and any site requirements before patient contact;
- logging hours and encounters accurately and following each site's rules;
- staying in contact with your program and course faculty;
- giving us accurate information and telling us promptly about any change.
Fees
Our fees are quoted individually, based on your program, course, location and timing, and your quote sets out what it covers. Charges made by a clinical site or other third party, and Sacred Heart's own tuition and fees, are separate from our fee. Sacred Heart's student guides describe the clinical requirements and costs that sit with the student.

Our guides summarize Sacred Heart's public catalog, program pages and other official sources as of the date shown on each page. They are general information, not academic, legal or professional advice, and Sacred Heart's rules can change. Check your syllabus, your Sacred Heart student guide and your academic advisor before relying on any detail.
Communications
Sending us your details means you consent to our contacting you about your enquiry and placement by email, phone call or text message, as our privacy policy describes. Reply STOP to any text to opt out of text messages.
Acceptable use
Please use this site for its intended purpose. Do not submit false information, misuse the forms or chat, or copy the site's content for commercial use without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Sacred Heart Preceptor is not liable for losses that arise from the decisions of Sacred Heart, a preceptor or a clinical site, from delays in approval or course progression, or from reliance on the general information on this site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. Each revision carries a new date at the top of the page. Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page or the chat.

Sacred Heart asks you to secure your clinical placement. We make that the easy part.
Tell us your Sacred Heart program, your city and your next clinical course. We find preceptors who fit the course and prepare what your advisor, the NP clinical coordinator and the Contract Request Form ask for, early enough for the affiliation agreement.
